Abstract
In the Arab Middle-East, power relations have been historically unequal, unilateral, and imposing. Globalization challenges this authoritarian order by weakening governments’ domination and absolute power, altering subjects’ attitudes, and transforming power relations. As control mechanisms erode and new facilities and platforms emerge, subjects’ awareness grows. Focusing on Egypt and Libya, the paper examines globalization’s political effects and argues that changes in power relations and political order transformation are inevitable.
