Abstract
This study integrates macro and micro analyses to provide holistic insight into China's student burden reduction policies. Analyzing 232 policy documents (1951-2021) and a survey of 23,567 parents, the study reveals a policy pattern of "Central leadership + Ministry of Education sovereignty + multi-department coordination," but with relatively little attention paid to parents' perspectives. A significant correlation exists between students' burden levels and parental attitudes toward the policies. The study concludes by advocating for a collaborative "family-school-society" sustainable education system in China.
