This study investigates the social acceptance of nature-based solutions (NBS) for climate change mitigation and adaptation in European cities. Using a dynamic social acceptance framework, the researchers analyze four case studies: METU Forest (Ankara), Tisza River Bank (Szeged), Forest Garden (Alcalá de Henares), and Quarries (Milan). Key factors influencing social acceptance include procedural and distributive fairness, perceived risks and benefits, knowledge, experience, and personal norms. Perceived benefits emerge as a common driver across all cases. The study highlights the importance of understanding community perspectives and tailoring NBS implementation to enhance climate resilience.
