This paper analyzes the evolution of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) research from 1990-2021, focusing on seven societal challenges identified by the IUCN. It reveals an underrepresentation of research on climate change mitigation, human health, food security, and water security. The study proposes six recommendations for future research to prioritize these understudied areas, aligning research with global vulnerability indices.
