Abstract
This paper investigates the impact of green taxation on regional green growth and innovation in China. Using panel data from 30 provinces (2004-2021), a bidirectional fixed-effects model reveals that green taxation significantly promotes regional green growth and green innovation but negatively impacts overall innovation due to resource crowding-out. The study provides policy recommendations for a balanced approach to green tax implementation.
