Abstract
This study investigates the impact of data-driven decision-making (DDDM) on productivity in Pakistan’s banking sector, considering the role of data analytics (DA) capability. Grounded in innovation diffusion theory and estimated using an Instrumental Variable Two-Stage Least Squares (IV-2SLS) approach, the authors construct a composite DDDM index from a primary survey and regress it on banks’ productivity (2016–2020). Results indicate that adopting analytics and DDDM increases productivity by about 9–10%, and that DDDM adoption combined with investment in data analytics further enhances productivity.
