This paper investigates the evolution of Industry 4.0 and its implementation in construction, transitioning to the emerging Industry 5.0 paradigm and its potential for Construction 5.0. It analyzes the literature, conducts bibliometric comparisons of Industry 4.0, Construction 4.0, and Industry 5.0, and assesses the prospects and challenges of human-robot collaboration (HRC) in construction. The study highlights HRC as the core of Industry 5.0 and explores its potential to revolutionize construction practices while addressing safety, ethical, and employment concerns.
