This international EuroELSO 2022 survey analyzed extracorporeal life support (ECLS) use in COVID-19 patients. 69 questionnaires from 62 European and 7 non-European centers were analyzed. Most centers provided respiratory ECLS, primarily for adults. Indications and contraindications aligned with guidelines, with age >65 often considered a contraindication. ECLS withdrawal criteria remain controversial due to unknown long-term outcomes and the impact of long COVID.
