This study evaluated women’s experiences with genome-wide (GW) first-tier non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) in a national screening program. 423 pregnant women chose between targeted NIPT (trisomies 21, 18, and 13) and GW-NIPT. Most (90.4%) were glad to have the choice; 76.5% chose GW-NIPT, mainly to get as much information as possible. Those choosing targeted NIPT primarily wanted to avoid uncertainty. Anxiety levels were similar between groups. Most favored broader future screening.
