Abstract
This paper proposes a new psychological intervention focused on body compassion to improve body image (BI) and quality of life in women with a history of breast cancer. The intervention addresses the negative impact of breast cancer treatments on BI, including physical changes and the fear of recurrence. A four-session group intervention is detailed, incorporating mindfulness techniques, body awareness exercises, and loving-kindness meditations. The intervention aims to foster self-compassion and a positive perception of the body post-cancer. The authors acknowledge limitations and suggest future research directions.
