Abstract
This paper evaluates the economic efficiency of 30 county units in the Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin (HBOY) urban agglomeration in China using the Stochastic Frontier Model. It analyzes the spatial and temporal patterns of efficiency, visualizing results with ArcGIS and employing Moran's Index to measure spatial correlation. The study finds steady improvement in county economic efficiency over time, with high-efficiency counties concentrated in the east. Economic linkage positively correlates with efficiency, while being a core city area negatively impacts efficiency. The paper suggests that improving transportation networks, comprehensive development, local markets, and reducing government expenditure could enhance county economic efficiency.
