This study investigates the impact of Health Human Capital (HHC) on China's economic growth. Using an 18-indicator evaluation system across four dimensions (basic health, preventive healthcare, medical resources and quality, and healthy environment), the researchers calculated the HHC index for 31 Chinese provinces from 2005 to 2019. Findings reveal a rising HHC level, with regional disparities favoring eastern China. Econometric analysis, employing endogenous growth theory and the Cobb-Douglas production function, confirms a positive relationship between HHC and economic growth, although this impact varies regionally, being stronger in more developed provinces. The study concludes by recommending policy strategies to improve HHC and reduce regional disparities.
