Abstract
This study investigates the potential of using cubosomes, a type of nanostructured lipid carrier, to enhance the activity of polymyxin B (PMB) against Gram-negative bacteria. The researchers explored the interaction between PMB-loaded cubosomes and bacterial membranes using various techniques, including quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring (QCM-D), neutron reflectometry (NR), and confocal microscopy. The results suggest that cubosomes can facilitate PMB delivery to bacterial membranes, leading to improved antimicrobial efficacy.
