This randomized controlled trial investigated the effects of a 6-week perioperative yoga program on quality of life (QoL) and immune response in 29 men newly diagnosed with localized prostate cancer. The yoga group showed significant improvements in several QoL measures, including sexual function, fatigue, and overall wellbeing. Importantly, yoga also led to increased numbers of circulating CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells, enhanced interferon-gamma production, and decreased levels of inflammatory cytokines. These results suggest that perioperative yoga may improve QoL and boost antitumor immunity in prostate cancer patients.
