Doomscrolling Scale: its Association with Personality Traits, Psychological Distress, Social Media Use, and Wellbeing

Across three studies, researchers validated both 15- and 4-item Doomscrolling Scales, linked doomscrolling to Big Five traits, social media addiction, and fear of missing out, and showed that psychological distress mediates its impact on life satisfaction and well-being.
