This study maps and characterizes flash‑flood‑prone areas in the 38,147 km² San Juan River basin using morphometric analysis, an inventory of active deposits, DEM‑derived thematic maps and Kernel density—finding a torrential basin with flow deposits concentrated on gentle slopes, mid‑slopes and east‑facing piedmonts, threatening infrastructure.
