Abstract
This study investigated the effects of the prebiotic xylooligosaccharide (XOS) on gut microbiota and ear inflammation in a murine model of oxazolone-induced atopic dermatitis. Mice fed an XOS-supplemented diet showed significantly fewer high responders to dermatitis compared to controls. XOS-fed mice also exhibited higher abundances of *Prevotella* spp. in their gut microbiota. A strong association between the low-responding phenotype and high *Prevotella* abundance suggests an anti-inflammatory role for this bacterium in allergic sensitization, highlighting it as a potential target for microbiota-directed therapies.
