This study utilized data from the 2021 GP Patient Survey in England to investigate the demographic characteristics, health conditions, and healthcare experiences of 6333 trans and non-binary adults. Trans and non-binary adults were found to be younger, more likely from minority ethnic groups, and more likely to reside in deprived areas. While age-specific patterns of long-term conditions were broadly similar to the general population, disparities were largest for autism, dementia, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions. Healthcare experience disparities were more pronounced in interpersonal communication than access, with trans and non-binary individuals reporting a much stronger preference for continuity of care. The findings highlight the need for healthcare improvement programs tailored to the specific needs of trans and non-binary individuals.
