Abstract
This study assesses the knowledge and perceptions of dairy farmers in Lahore, Pakistan, regarding antimicrobial use and misuse. A survey of 270 dairy farmers revealed that a significant portion do not consult veterinarians, follow dosage instructions, or discontinue treatment when disease signs subside. Many farmers are unaware of the dangers of misuse, save leftover antibiotics, and share them with others. The study highlights the need for awareness campaigns, policy changes, and a holistic approach to address antibiotic misuse and its impact on food security.
