Abstract
This qualitative study investigates the economic, cultural, and symbolic value of the enset crop among the Gurage people of Southwest Ethiopia. Using data collected through observation, interviews, and focus group discussions, the study reveals enset's importance in wealth stratification, social bonding, and symbolic representations of life and femininity. The researchers recommend further investigation into the plant's medicinal properties and disease resistance.
