Abstract
This umbrella review analyzes the extent of patient and public involvement (PPI) in COVID-19 health and social care research and its role in developing public health measures (PHM). A search of nine databases from 2020-2022 yielded six systematic reviews meeting inclusion criteria. Findings indicate varied PPI approaches (written feedback, stakeholder conversations, working groups), highlighting the need for community-specific PHM within a sociocultural context. Consistent and reproducible findings are crucial for effective pandemic response, emphasizing PPI's role in shared decision-making.
