Traditional catalytic CO₂ reduction methods are energy-intensive and use expensive catalysts. This paper introduces a contact-electro-catalysis approach using a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) with Cu-PCN catalysts and quaternized cellulose nanofibers (CNF). The TENG achieves a CO Faradaic efficiency of 96.24% and a CO yield of 33 µmol g⁻¹ h⁻¹, superior to existing air-based CO₂ reduction technologies. The single Cu atoms in Cu-PCN enrich electrons during contact electrification, facilitating electron transfer to CO₂ adsorbed on quaternized CNF, enabling CO₂ reduction even in ambient air.
