Abstract
This study demonstrates the therapeutic potential of CD5L in treating experimental sepsis. CD5L enhances neutrophil recruitment and activation, promotes phagocytosis, and lowers endotoxin and DAMP levels. CD5L-deficient mice exhibit impaired immune responses and decreased survival. Recombinant CD5L significantly improves sepsis outcomes in mice, warranting further investigation as a potential human treatment.
