Abstract
This paper introduces a porous catalyst with 'breathing' characteristics enabled by thermal stimulus. This allows for efficient exchange of reagents and products through reversible stacking of aromatic hexamers into trimeric macrocycles. The contracted, super-hydrophobic tubular interior catalyzes nucleophilic aromatic substitution reactions, while expansion facilitates reagent and product exchange, ensuring continuous reaction. This mesoporous modification with inflatable transition offers a novel approach to dynamic catalyst design.
