This study surveyed 1,088 Texans to understand their opinions about connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs). Key findings indicate an average willingness to pay (WTP) of $2,910, $4,607, $7,589, and $127 for Level 2, Level 3, Level 4 automation, and connectivity, respectively. Affordability and equipment failure were the top concerns. Econometric models (interval regression and ordered probit) explored the relationship between demographics, built environment, travel patterns, crash history, and responses regarding WTP, shared autonomous vehicle adoption, home location shifts, adoption timing, and tolling policies. Results revealed that more experienced drivers had higher WTP for connectivity, while older people valued automation less.
