This study investigated the impact of age and two exercise training regimens (high-intensity intermittent training (HIIT) and moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT)) on genomic and metabolic remodeling in skeletal muscle and liver of male mice. Older mice in the MICT group showed improvements in body composition, blood glucose, and muscle strength. Both regimens induced skeletal muscle adaptations, but transcriptomics and metabolomics analyses revealed age-dependent metabolic remodeling in response to training, supporting a tailored exercise approach for the elderly.
