This study employs critical discourse analysis to examine the role of gender-specific network buzzwords in shaping youth identity on Weibo, a major Chinese social media platform. Analyzing 11 gendered buzzwords from *Yaowen Jiaozi* magazine's annual top-ten lists (2012-2021), the research investigates how these buzzwords construct both gender-conforming and non-conforming discourses, exploring their cultural significance and societal impact.
