Livestock significantly contribute to the livelihoods of one billion people in developing countries. This scoping review examined the evidence for the uptake of improved ruminant livestock feed options, their impact on productivity, and their effects on smallholder farmer livelihoods. A rigorous review of 22,981 papers resulted in the inclusion of 73, with only 6 providing complete evidence on adoption, productivity, and livelihood changes. The review highlights a significant gap in evidence and offers recommendations to support farmer adoption of feed interventions.
