Abstract
This randomized controlled trial (RCT) evaluated the effectiveness of the digital socio-emotional competence (SEC) training *Zirkus Empathico* on 74 preschoolers. Compared to controls, the *Zirkus Empathico* group showed improvements in empathy, emotion recognition, prosocial behavior, and reduced behavioral problems. EEG data revealed larger P3 amplitudes to happy vs. angry and neutral facial expressions post-training, suggesting enhanced emotion sensitivity. *Zirkus Empathico* shows promise as a digital training for SEC in preschoolers.
