Abstract

This paper provides a comprehensive overview of recent research trends in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), also known as drones. It classifies UAVs based on various factors, analyzes current research directions using data from the Scopus database (covering 2020-2023), explores potential future development axes, and examines advancements in aircraft control, including various control algorithms. The paper also covers the hardware and software architectures of UAVs, their applications, and key challenges and issues, along with an overview of open-source projects.
