Abstract
This paper introduces a novel biomimetic human bone platform for *in vitro* testing of prosthetic implants. The platform uses titanium (Ti) and stainless steel (SS) implants anchored into biomimetic scaffolds seeded with human induced mesenchymal stem cells (iMSCs) to mimic the osseointegration process. The study demonstrates distinct gene expression patterns, matrix deposition, and mineralization differences between Ti and SS implants, with Ti showing stronger integration. RNA sequencing reveals differential pathway expression (TGF-beta and FGF2 for Ti; Wnt, BMP, and IGF for SS). High-resolution imaging shows increased mineralization with Ti, leading to twofold higher pullout strength. This platform offers a human-relevant alternative to animal testing for evaluating implant osseointegration.
