The Nantucket AIR (Artists in Residence) program provides residencies for artists to:

Selected artists will receive:
- $500 toward travel expenses.
- A $2,000 stipend for materials and living expenses.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this residency, applicants must:
- Be artists who have recently graduated (within the last 5 years) or are currently enrolled in an MFA graduate program.
- Have work that explores aesthetic beauty.
- Be seeking a month-long residency focused solely on their art practice, with no expectations to teach, exhibit, or present work.
📝 Application Process
Applicants are required to submit the following:
- Current CV/Resume (maximum 3 pages).
- Artist Statement (200 words or less).
- Artist Bio (200 words or less).
- 12 digital images of your work, including a list of images with:
- Title
- Media
- Dimensions
- Date
- Your name
- Cover Letter (300 words or less) that includes:
- A brief description of your work.
- Specific circumstances you'd like considered.
- Reasons for applying, goals for the residency, and how you can contribute to the island arts community.
- The specific residency you are applying for and your preferred dates.
- For 1-week summer residencies: Include a brief workshop proposal, duration, and teaching fee (workshops typically run Tuesday-Thursday, 3 to 8 hours).
- References:
- Email and phone contacts for 3 references.
- Describe their relationship to you (e.g., employer, teacher, gallerist, mentor).
- References should be current or recent (within 5 years).
