📖 About the Scholarship

The Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Human Rights and Sustainability (MAHRS) is an 18-month program designed for young scholars and professionals interested in studying International Law, Good Governance, and Sustainability Principles, Norms, and Standards, with a focus on the Central Asian Region.

This program is co-financed by the European Union (EU) and the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. Admission is highly competitive, with up to 20 students selected.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Background:

    • Successful completion of a four-year BA degree, a Specialist Diploma, or be in the final year of a BA program in fields such as social sciences, humanities, law, sociology, international relations, political science, or similar subjects.
  • Citizenship:

    • Must be a citizen of one of the following countries:
      • Afghanistan
      • Kazakhstan
      • Kyrgyzstan
      • Mongolia
      • Tajikistan
      • Turkmenistan
      • Uzbekistan
      • Any other OSCE participating State
  • Professional/Research Interest:

    • Demonstrated interest in human rights, sustainability, and democratization in Central Asia.
  • Willingness to Travel:

    • Must be willing to travel and relocate for several months to other countries to complete the program.
  • English Proficiency:

    • Advanced level of English:
      • IELTS: At least 6.5
      • TOEFL: At least 90
