Latinos in Heritage Conservation (LHC) is currently accepting applications for the Nuestra Herencia Grant 2026. This grant program is dedicated to supporting Latinx heritage and historic preservation projects across the United States.

🏛️ About LHC Nuestra Herencia Grant Program

Latinos in Heritage Conservation (LHC) is committed to fostering a strong, national movement for Latinx heritage preservation. The Nuestra Herencia Grant Program provides funding to grassroots, Latinx-focused nonprofit organizations and community groups working to protect and celebrate Latinx history and cultural contributions.

• Annual Funding: $600,000 available.
• Focus: Latinx heritage and historic preservation projects.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Your Organization Must:

• Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (or fiscally sponsored by one).
  • Includes preservation-focused community groups, museums, cultural centers, historic preservation groups, historic sites, and historical societies.
• Be Latinx-led and/or serving.
• Not be a local, state, tribal, or federal agency, school, or school district.
• Not be an individual applicant.

Additional Considerations:

• Funds are intended for grassroots organizations and community-driven initiatives that lack sustained financial support.
• Priority is given to applicants with annual operating budgets below $500,000.
• Organizations with budgets exceeding $500,000 are still eligible but will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

🤝 Fiscal Sponsorship

If your organization is not a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, you may apply with a Fiscal Sponsor.

Key Details:

• A Fiscal Sponsor is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that agrees to manage grant funds on your behalf.
• The Fiscal Sponsor assumes legal and financial responsibility for the grant, while your group leads the project.
• The Fiscal Sponsor's fee must be less than 10% of the grant award.
• You will need to provide the Fiscal Sponsor's EIN number during the application process.

Steps to Apply:

1. Download the Application Template:
   • English Version
   • Spanish Version
2. Create an Account:
   • Visit Submittable and click "Sign-Up".
   • Enter your email, name, and password, then verify your email.
3. Apply Online:
   • Once your account is created, apply via the LHC Grant Program Portal.
4. Organization Verification:
   • Use the Organization Search feature to input your organization’s EIN or UEI information.
   • If applying under a Fiscal Sponsor, input their EIN or UEI.
