Established in 2020, this award is named in honor of Prof. Mohammad A. Hamdan, the late Vice-President for the Arab Region of TWAS. It celebrates outstanding mathematical work in areas such as:

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the award, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• The award recognizes outstanding mathematical work (pure, applied, probability, statistics) by scientists working and living in Africa or the Arab region.
• Eligible candidates must be nationals of an African or Arab country and have been living and working there for a minimum of two years immediately prior to their nomination.
• TWAS Fellows are not eligible.
• Individuals who have previously won a TWAS-named Award are not eligible to be nominated for awards named after a different TWAS Fellow.
• Self-nominations and nominations from jury members will not be considered.
