KWI International Fellowships 2026
The Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities (KWI) is now accepting applications for its International Fellowships 2026. This prestigious program supports outstanding postdoctoral researchers in the humanities worldwide by providing funding, research infrastructure, and an interdisciplinary academic environment in Germany.

Note: Any additional travel costs beyond the partial reimbursement must be covered by the fellow.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the KWI International Fellowships, applicants must:
- Have completed a PhD.
- Have no more than six years of postdoctoral experience, counted from the date of PhD completion.
- Hold a PhD awarded in 2020 or later.
📝 Application Process
Applicants are required to submit their application as one single PDF file (max. 20 MB) via email to international.fellowship@uni-due.de. Please note:
- Applications via links to external platforms will not be accepted due to IT safety regulations.
- The application must be in English and include:
- A CV.
- A list of publications.
- A PhD certificate.
- A proposal sketching your KWI project (up to 5,000 characters).
- Incomplete applications, applications submitted after the deadline, or those exceeding the specified length will not be considered.

The deadline to apply is 28 February 2026, 24:00 (midnight, CET).
📂 Selection Process
- Fellows will be selected by a committee comprising members of the KWI governing board and the institute’s director.
- Applications will be evaluated based on the quality of the proposal and alignment with KWI’s thematic agenda.
