📖 About The Programme
The ILFA Flagship Programme facilitates a three-month secondment for African lawyers in the law offices of international law firms and corporations based in London, Paris, and Dubai. This initiative aims to enhance the skills and expertise of African legal professionals.

✅ Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a degree in law or be admitted to practice as a lawyer in any African jurisdiction.
- Have excellent academic credentials (minimum of a 2.1 or equivalent) from a university with a reputable law faculty.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of qualified experience in private practice or government service.
- Be a permanent resident of an African country.
- Have professional legal experience at the national level, with an emphasis on public international law, corporate and commercial law, or banking and finance law.
- Experience as government/state lawyers in the context of international law is preferable.
- Be committed to developing legal skills in areas such as:
- Litigation
- Intellectual property
- Project finance
- Oil & gas
- Construction
- Mining
- Sovereign debt
- Be fluent in English (French and Arabic are desired for certain placements).
- Be willing to contribute a small percentage to the programme.
- Meet the COVID-19 protocols for the UK at the time of the secondment, including vaccines, PCR tests, and other requirements as set by the UK Government.
- Be under the age of 35 to qualify for the Fragomen Temporary Work Visa in the UK.
- Have obtained a degree of any kind in the last 5 years.
