đ« About Humboldt-UniversitĂ€t zu Berlin - SLE Postgraduate Program
The program is aimed at motivated Master's graduates who wish to expand and reflect on their specialist knowledge, methods, and values. Each year, 20 interdisciplinary and international applicants are selected to participate in the program.
In Berlin, participants can expect:
- An interactive course program
- Practical training with project studies in partner countries
- Small group work addressing real-life challenges
đ Benefits
Participants of the program receive:
- Monthly scholarship from January to December in the amount of 1,300 euros (full scholarship, based on the German Young Talent Promotion Act â NaFöG)
- Child supplement (if applicable):
- 102.26 euros for the first child
- 51.13 euros for each additional child
â Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the program, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A completed university or university of applied sciences degree (Masterâs, Diplom, state examination, doctorate) with at least good grades that qualifies for a doctorate at Humboldt-UniversitĂ€t zu Berlin.
- The Masterâs degree must be available by the start of the SLE program (beginning of January) and is a prerequisite for enrollment.
- Internships, work, and study placements in one or more countries.
- Above-average interest in development policy and high motivation for additional training.
- Fluency in English. Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage, especially:
- Arabic
- Chinese
- German
- French
- Portuguese
- Russian
- Spanish
- Health suitability for stays in countries of the Global South with possibly limited healthcare and higher health risks.
- Personal suitability for the SLE postgraduate program.
Important Note:
The scholarship is only open to individuals who are citizens of an EU member state or a country classified as a transition or developing country according to the DAC list of ODA recipients.
