- Salary: Consistent with a Level A Step 8 appointment (e.g., $108,362 in 2025 at the University of Western Australia) plus 17% superannuation.
- Accommodation Allowance: $25,116 per annum in 2025 (subject to marginal tax rate).
- Research and Travel Allowance: A one-time allowance of $12,000 for approved research-related expenses, overseas research, and conference travel.
- Relocation Allowance: Interstate and international Fellows can apply for a relocation allowance, including an economy airfare to Perth (to be discussed with the Director if successful).
Additionally, Forrest Fellows are expected to support the mission of the Forrest Research Foundation, which includes mentoring, ambassadorial, and leadership roles.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Forrest Research Foundation Fellowships:
- Applicants must be in their final year of PhD or no more than two years post-PhD conferral.
- For applications submitted in 2025 (with Fellowship commencement in 2026):
- Applicants must have had their PhD conferred on or after January 1, 2023.
- Alternatively, applicants must successfully complete all requirements for their PhD by December 31, 2025.
