The First Peoples’ Cultural Council (FPCC) is a First Nations-led organization in British Columbia dedicated to revitalizing Indigenous languages, arts, and cultural heritage. Through its Individual Artists Program, FPCC strengthens B.C. First Nations creative expression, professional development, and cultural continuity. This funding opportunity supports Indigenous artists in advancing their artistic skills, knowledge, and community engagement.

🎁 Benefits of the Program

1. Individual Artists – Up to $20,000

This funding area supports artists in:

  • Increasing their skills and knowledge.
  • Pursuing new approaches or techniques in their practice.
  • Gaining recognition from their peers and community.
  • Developing a presentation of their artistic journey/history for the public (e.g., knowledge-sharing events, community gatherings, gallery showings, digital platforms, performances, films).
  • Spending more time with their creative expression.

2. Scholarships – Up to $15,000

Scholarships support applicants enrolled in an arts program at a post-secondary institution. Applicants must:

  • Indicate the institution, program, and number of semesters they have enrolled in.
  • Pursue post-secondary education in the arts through a semester-based program or an intensive program.
  • Include professional development training in their creative practice.

Applicants must:

  • Be B.C. First Nations individuals.
  • Be 19 years of age or older.
  • Have lived in British Columbia for at least one year.
  • Demonstrate a sustained commitment to their artistic practice.
  • Provide community or professional support letters.
