📖 About DESY Summer Student Program

Each summer, DESY offers undergraduate students in physics or related disciplines (such as scientific computing and engineering) the opportunity to gain first-hand research experience at a large international laboratory.

• Salary: Approximately 28.50 euros per day, along with partial travel reimbursement.

✅ DESY Summer Student Program Requirements

To be eligible for the DESY Summer Student Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Must have completed at least three years of full-time university-level studies in physics, related natural science disciplines, or computing by the summer of 2026.
2. Open to:
   • Undergraduate/Bachelor’s students about to obtain their degree.
   • Those holding a Bachelor’s degree and currently pursuing a Master’s degree.
3. Ineligible:
   • Applicants who have already completed a Master’s degree or will do so by the summer of 2026.
   • Previous participants in the DESY Summer Student Program.
4. The majority of projects are designed for physics students.
5. Must be enrolled at a university for the entire program duration, complying with German employment law for paid internships.
6. Must have a good working knowledge of English and possess basic computing skills.
7. Must commit to the entire program duration: 21 July to 10 September 2026.
