๐ About DESY Summer Student Program
Each summer, DESY offers undergraduate students in physics or related disciplines (such as scientific computing and engineering) the opportunity to gain first-hand research experience at a large international laboratory.

Participants in the DESY Summer Student Program will enjoy the following benefits:
- Salary: Approximately 28.50 euros per day, along with partial travel reimbursement.

- Photon science

โ DESY Summer Student Program Requirements
To be eligible for the DESY Summer Student Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must have completed at least three years of full-time university-level studies in physics, related natural science disciplines, or computing by the summer of 2026.
- Open to:
- Undergraduate/Bachelorโs students about to obtain their degree.
- Those holding a Bachelorโs degree and currently pursuing a Masterโs degree.
- Ineligible:
- Applicants who have already completed a Masterโs degree or will do so by the summer of 2026.
- Previous participants in the DESY Summer Student Program.
- The majority of projects are designed for physics students.
- Must be enrolled at a university for the entire program duration, complying with German employment law for paid internships.
- Must have a good working knowledge of English and possess basic computing skills.
- Must commit to the entire program duration: 21 July to 10 September 2026.
