Opportunity Overview

The Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) is inviting women in all their diversities, including those from minority and marginalized groups in Asia and the Pacific, to apply for the Migration Programme Internship. This program is part of the Migrants United and Act for Human Rights (MUAH) initiative.

๐Ÿ“– About the Internship

The Migration Programme aims to ensure that women migrants enjoy human rights and can make informed choices about migration. It focuses on increasing the capacities, voices, and leadership of women migrants through feminist organizing training, Feminist Participatory Action Research (FPAR), strategic advocacy, and collective movement building.

The selected intern will work remotely from their home country for a minimum of six (6) months, starting as early as July 2025. The internship duration may be extended upon mutual agreement. The intern will collaborate closely with the MUAH Programme team, Programme Organizing Committee members, and the wider APWLD Secretariat.

๐Ÿ›  Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Attend regular meetings and maintain communication with the Migration Programme team.
  • Support logistics and coordination for activities, training, and meetings during the internship.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and writing for the Migration Programme.
  • Provide documentation support, including note-taking, transcribing, categorizing online documents, and scheduling meeting invites.
  • Offer technical support during online meetings.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Benefits

  • A stipend of $330 USD per month will be provided for the duration of the internship.
  • No additional benefits are included.

โœ… Eligibility Criteria

This internship is suitable for students and young professionals with a background in or interest in womenโ€™s human rights issues at a regional level. Ideal candidates include:

  • Individuals with or pursuing an undergraduate degree in law, gender studies, social sciences, or related fields.
  • Activists or development practitioners involved in human rights and/or womenโ€™s movements.
  • Applicants with excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Those with demonstrable ability to work in a diverse, multicultural team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates with experience in event organization or logistics (preferred).
  • Individuals with experience working with womenโ€™s rights or migrant-led organizations (professional or voluntary capacity preferred).
  • Must commit to a six (6) month internship.
  • Preference for candidates based in Asia and the Pacific Region.
