2025 New Southbound Policy Elite Study Program at TMU
The 2025 New Southbound Policy Elite Study Program at Taipei Medical University (TMU) is designed for individuals pursuing career development in healthcare and seeking to earn transferable academic credits. The program runs from September 2025 to January 2026.
π About the Program
This program offers participants the opportunity to:
- Study at a top-ranked university and experience life in Taipei City.
- Learn alongside international students and working professionals.
- Gain hands-on experience through laboratory training or healthcare-focused courses.
- Improve Mandarin proficiency through intensive language courses.
- Immerse in Taiwanese culture and strengthen international connections.
π Coursework Includes:
- Medicine-related courses and/or laboratory training (11 hours/week).
- Mandarin courses (6 hours/week).
- Cultural activities.
Note: All courses and activities are mandatory. Failure to attend will result in termination from the program and full repayment of the subsidy received.

- NTD 8,000 monthly stipend.
- Direct round-trip economy class airfares.
- Tuition fee coverage.
- Extracurricular activities.
Note: If the program period is less than one month, a prorated stipend will be provided based on the actual number of days.
β Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Citizenship:
Citizens of Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Australia, or New Zealand. - Educational Background:
A bachelorβs degree or higher from an accredited college or university. - Field of Expertise:
A strong background in biological science, healthcare, laboratory work, or data analysis. - English Proficiency:
- NEW TOEIC: 785
- IELTS: 5.5
- TOEFL iBT: 72
- TOEFL ITP: 543
- PTE: 50
- Financial Statement:
A minimum balance of USD 1,000. - Other Conditions:
Open to international students who are not receiving financial aid or academic support from the Taiwanese government, related agencies, or educational institutions.

Applicants must submit the following documents:
- Online application form.
- CV.
- Statement of purpose.
- Language proficiency test results.
- Financial statement showing at least USD 1,000.
- Diploma or a statement of enrollment and transcripts.
Note: After submitting all required documents, qualified applicants will be notified for an interview. Applicants who are not qualified will not receive a separate notification.
