International Conference on Computational Creativity
International Conference on Computational Creativity (ICCC’26)
Dates: June 29 – July 3, 2026
Location: Coimbra, Portugal
Submission Portal: EasyChair ICCC’26
Computational Creativity (CC) is an interdisciplinary field that explores the potential for computers to be creative—either autonomously or in partnership with humans. It draws from disciplines such as Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Science, Engineering, Design, Psychology, and Philosophy.
The 17th International Conference on Computational Creativity (ICCC’26) invites papers addressing various aspects of CC, including principles, theories, models, frameworks, methodologies, applications, and societal impacts. Contributions that promote the teaching and adoption of CC in schools, universities, and society are also welcome.

Themes and Topics
Original research contributions are invited in all areas of Computational Creativity, including but not limited to:
- Foundations of Computational Creativity: Theories, models, and principles.
- Interdisciplinary Perspectives: Philosophical and sociological studies in creative AI systems.
- Computational Paradigms: Approaches modeling cognitive aspects of creativity (e.g., heuristic search, analogical reasoning).
- Human-Machine Co-Creativity: Systems and methodologies for human-AI creative partnerships.
- Social Models: Computational models of social creativity, collaboration, and team dynamics.
- Psychological Factors: Models of emotion, surprise, reflection, diversity, and motivation in creativity.
- Societal Impact: Ethical considerations and societal implications of creative AI systems.
- Computational Creativity Evaluation: Metrics and methodologies for evaluating creativity in systems.
- Applications of Computational Creativity: Creative applications in music, language, games, visual arts, design, education, and more.
- Data and Creativity: Resource development and data science approaches for creative AI.
- Provocations: Novel issues or debates challenging foundational aspects of CC.
Note on Generative AI Models: Papers on generative AI must situate their work within CC literature and adhere to evaluation practices in the field. Submissions lacking this rigor may not be reviewed favorably.
Paper Types
Authors are invited to submit full papers in one of the following categories:
- Technical Papers: Hypothesis-driven research with strong evaluation and advancement in CC.
- System or Resource Description Papers: Engineering achievements in creative systems or resources, with evaluation of results.
- Study Papers: Novel perspectives from allied fields or broader AI, emphasizing contributions to CC.
- Cultural Application Papers: Creative software used in cultural settings (e.g., exhibitions, concerts, games).
- Position Papers: Opinions on CC research culture, future directions, and speculative explorations.
Evaluation: ICCC emphasizes empirical and theoretical evaluation of technical systems and outcomes. Papers will be reviewed for quality, impact, and relevance to Computational Creativity.
Presentation
Accepted papers must be presented at the conference by one of the authors. This requires registration and live participation during the designated session, including the Q&A period.
Submission Instructions
The submission process consists of two stages:
-
Abstract Submission:
- Recommended length: 100–200 words.
- Submit abstracts via the EasyChair system.
- Include author information, title, abstract, and keywords.
-
Full Paper Submission:
- Page limit: 8 pages + up to 2 pages of references.
- Papers must be anonymized for double-blind review (e.g., remove references to home institutions).
- Format: ICCC style (similar to AAAI and IJCAI formats). Templates available in LaTeX and Word.
- Upload the manuscript file via EasyChair by updating the abstract submission.
Double Submission Policy: Work submitted to ICCC must not be under review elsewhere at the time of submission.
Camera-Ready Submission Instructions
To submit the camera-ready version:
- Log into EasyChair, select your paper, click “update file,” and upload the final version.
- Ensure the following:
- Maximum length: 8 pages + 2 pages of references.
- Format: ICCC style (templates available in LaTeX and Word).
- Presentation requirement: At least one author must present the paper at the conference.
