Conference Overview

The EURINT 2025 International Conference will be held from 16-18 May 2025 in Iași, Romania. The European Union is at a critical juncture, facing complex political, economic, and social dynamics. Recent years have seen the resurgence of populism, driven by economic inequalities and perceived exclusions. Addressing these challenges is crucial to prevent societal divisions and uphold the democratic fabric of Europe.

Building resilience is essential to ensure a robust and adaptive Europe capable of navigating an uncertain future. The 2025 EURINT conference aims to foster a multidisciplinary dialogue on shaping a Europe that is both economically vibrant and socially cohesive.

This year’s edition is part of a series celebrating a quarter-century of academic activity, research, and successful partnerships at the Centre for European Studies, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași, under the motto “25 Years of Excellence in European Studies.”

Conference Themes

1. Merging Growth and Societal Needs in the 21st Century
   The European growth model must evolve to meet contemporary societal demands. This involves fostering innovation and competitiveness while ensuring economic policies reflect broader societal needs, such as sustainable development and equitable access to resources.

2. Incorporating Inclusivity and Addressing Inequality in Policymaking
   The widening gap between different social and territorial groups requires immediate attention. Policymakers must prioritize inclusivity and design frameworks that reduce inequalities, enhance social mobility, and empower marginalized communities.

3. Building Territorial Resilience
   Resilience is fundamental to safeguarding Europe’s future. The conference will address strategies for enhancing the adaptive capacities of regions and communities, focusing on sustainable urban planning, climate adaptation, and economic diversification to mitigate future crises.
