Energy is undeniably one of the most pressing global issues of the 21st century. A reliable and sustainable energy system is crucial for achieving a more sustainable future. The world’s energy consumption is expected to nearly double by 2050, with most of the growth occurring in countries outside the OECD. Sustainable development requires consistent access to clean, affordable energy to support economic activity, enhance national development, and improve human well-being.

Additionally, there is a strong link between the energy sector and global climate change due to the impact of CO2 emissions from burning fossil fuels. Studies show that carbon emissions peaked in 2018, primarily from carbon-rich fossil fuels, which generated nearly 85% of the world’s energy. Against this backdrop, energy is a complex field involving multidisciplinary research, development, demonstration, and deployment in energy systems, grid systems, and applications—especially during the energy transition era.

Conference Overview

The combination of rising populations and improving living standards over the next 50 years will demand massively scaled sustainable energy and low-carbon electricity generation solutions to combat climate change. While these challenges pose significant threats to the status quo, they also present remarkable opportunities for research, innovation, and green growth.

Building on the success of the past nine years, ICGEA proudly announces its 10th edition in 2026. The 2026 International Conference on Green Energy and Applications (ICGEA) will take place from March 6-8, 2026, in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The conference is sponsored by Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi, Vietnam.
