This study explores the support provided to caregivers of people with visual impairment (PVI) by healthcare and charity professionals (HCCPs) in the UK. A survey of 68 HCCPs revealed that most support focused on practical aspects like signposting to other services and information about low vision aids. However, HCCPs identified significant unmet needs, particularly in emotional support, respite care, financial assistance, and improved system navigation. The study highlights the need for increased resources, training, and a more coordinated system to better support caregivers of PVI.
