Abstract
This paper validates Halo Movement, a smartphone camera-based assessment of movement health. Using computer vision and machine learning, it quantifies movement health through five exercises. In a diverse cohort of 150 participants, moderate to strong correlations were found between Halo Movement scores, sensor-based 3D motion capture, and 13 standardized functional movement tests. Halo Movement effectively differentiated between athletes, healthy individuals, and those with movement impairments, suggesting potential superiority over existing tools for quantifying functional movement in able-bodied individuals.
