This research analyzes the portrayal of trans identities in two Bengali-Indian films, Nagarkirtan (2019) and Chitrangada: The Crowning Wish (2012), through an interactionist lens. It examines how cultural discourses influence the formation of trans identities, highlighting the complex processes involved and the impact of social interactions, class, culture, and financial status on the experiences of trans individuals.
