Abstract
This study investigated three-year outcomes (remission, recovery, relapse, medication adherence) and predictors of full recovery in 534 patients with early-stage psychosis (schizophrenia spectrum disorders and psychotic disorder not otherwise specified). Remission and recovery rates were high (69-80% and 23-40%, respectively), and relapse rates increased over time. Significant predictors of full recovery included shorter duration of untreated psychosis (DUP), family intimacy, and physical activity intensity. The study suggests a need for effective psychosocial interventions to improve functional outcomes and address DUP, family dynamics, and exercise.
